SCORING AND AREAS OF COMPETITION
Queen of Hope encourages its delegates to give 110% of themselves in the competition. Recognizing that, the pageant gives a possible total 110% score.

The Queen of Hope Pageant's scoring consists of the following:

50% Interview

To "even the playing field" and focus on the contestant's words and content-- not what she wears-- all contestants wear jeans and a pageant sponsored T-shirt to the interview. Delegates are judged on clarity of thought and presentation. Delegates are not judged on their personal opinions.

10% Athletic Wear

Delegates are judged on an outfit of their choosing.  Delegates are judged on what they believe best represents their level of activity and fitness. Each contestant is judged on presentation and personality, not just chisled muscles.

10% Evening Wear
Pay be pants or any length gown. The program asks you to answer the question, "What makes you feel beautiful?" Wear anything that you would wear to a black tie event.

10% Onstage Question

This isn't a question drawn from a bowl, it is a question tailored to the contestant personally from her personal interview.  This is designed to give the judges an idea of the sincerity of the contestant, the opportunity to see her work well in a more public question and answer forum, and also to give the audience an opportunity to know more about each contestant.

20% Community Service Work

Judged by a separate panel of judges, the contestants submit their community service work to be reviewed for the final 20% of the 100% required score.

10% Optional Achievement Portfolio
Each contestant is given the opportunity to submit an achievement portfolio for an additional 10% for a possible total score of 110%.

More than a scrapbook, this entry tell us about who you are and serves as an opportunity for personal discovery. This entry asks delegates to discribe what they believe are personal achievements: educaiton, awards won, personal accomplishments etc.
