MISSION
Our "Queen's Team" serves many organizations. Although our emphasis is woman's health, fulfillment and empowerment we serve the needs of everyone in the community: men, women, and children. Known as "the crowns for the cure (tm)" We cure the fear of cancer by openly sharing our personal experiences. We cure the stigma associated with cancer by our positive mentorship. We cure the disease by funding organizations such as The City of Hope and Beckman Institute, a nationally designated comprehensive cancer care center. Join us as we become part of the cure. 501(c)(3)
THE QUEEN'S TEAM
Our "Queen's Team" is composed of men and women from around the world who seek not only to better themselves but our international communities. Some members have never volunteered, others are seasoned professionals. We welcome volunteers as well as paid philanthopy personelle from any organization. Crowned dignitaries from the Worldwide Pageant and non-pageant related persons are all welcomed to join and share in our endeavors. Our team shares ideas and projects through the internet on the Queen's Team yahoo group.
THE CROWNS FOR THE CUREtm
The crowns for the cure is more than a snappy trademarked catch-phrase. Whether they wear our rememberance ribbon tiara, or are part of another organization, our "crowns for the cure" use their celebrity status to make a difference. Our team of diversified professionals have served live and performing arts through their talents as "trophy queens" at award shows and wranglers for talent such as Ray Charles. Many are talented and use these skills at fund raising events. With everyone from lawyers to doctors to accountants, we can serve your event needs. Click here to have a representative at your event Although these special delegates are invited to compete at the international Worldwide Pageant, it is not required. It is understood that these titles may be chosen simply for the personal value of meeting a life-long desire to be a "beauty queen." Worldwide is more than happy to further this by fulfillment by facilitating appearance and personal growth opportunities to these special title holders. These exceptional ladies, and men, may be of any age, race, or marital status. We do strongly encourage a participation in the community and especially withing the organization to whom the title was donated. Worldwide further raises awareness and funds through the collection of suggested donations for items bearing our trademarked crowns for the cure collection of jewelry, crowns, t-shirts and our support shop. click here to shop
PROJECTS
Worldwide- the crowns for the cure, has many projects which serve to better the community and provide fulfillment to our individual team members. Additionally, we support our team in their individual projects and serve to facilitate in them a passion and means of fulfilling their dreams. Among our popular projects is the "Valentine's for Vets." The week of Valentine's is the National Week of Recognition for Hospitalized Veterans. We encourage our team to make and deliver cards to our hospitalized veterans during this time. With this project, there is a great potential to involve the various pre-schools and other children to create and distribute cards, gifts and tokens. Worldwide also encourages using this time to recognise and thank Fire Fighters, Police Officers, and others who are there to protect and serve us. This is our time to serve them. Please check back frequently and use the side navigation bar to see our projects in action. Our site undergoes constant updates which we hope you will enjoy.
BEYOND SURVIVING...THRIVING!
Worldwide recognizes that there are no more special superstars than those who have "survived" traumatic events or extenuating circumstances. This could include cancer, personal injury, domestic violence, or some other personal challenge. Spear headed by Executive Director, Effie "Sanura" Horning, this project serves to encourage using these special circumstances as a means of defining one's self by how these events are dealt with rather than being defined by the event. It is a chance to create in one's life the opportunities that may have been missed and to persue dreams. It is the opportunity to take what time we have and make it the quality we deserve. It is a time to erase the fear and stigmas associated with cancer and these circumstances by sharing personal experiences and the dreams which have been fulfilled. Whether a day, week or years, it is time to go beyond surving and show we can be THRIVING!
