Project H.O.P.E. (Helping Other People is Empowering) is inspired by the "Ferengi Principles of Philanthropy."
In this project, we teach others how to make and sell the Power for Hope bracelet. They are encouraged to create and markettheir own designs as they become more skilled and confident through this mentorship program.
Persons chosen to participate are typically those who are in need themselves. Participants are further given a free geocities website and provided with basic web skills and marketing.
Each participant not only receives money for the number of pieces they make, but are also serving the community as proceeds from sales go to our breast cancer charities.
In this way, participants win by earning a living, learning a new and marketable skill and understand what an important and productive part of the community they are. |
